Declan Rice calls Anfield "sick" following Liverpool's victory over West Ham.

 

West Ham's lack of a point against Liverpool, according to Declan Rice, has left him feeling "sick," but he also thinks his team is proving they can compete with the "big boys."

On Wednesday night at Anfield, Liverpool defeated the Hammers 1-0 thanks to a goal from Darwin Nunez. After 22 minutes, the goal was scored.

That only tells part of the story, though, because Jarrod Bowen missed the opportunity to score from the penalty he won just before halftime. Alisson Becker stopped the forward.

With three minutes remaining in the second half, a crucial block by James Milner prevented Tomas Soucek from tying the score, costing the Hammers a golden chance to earn a point. Speaking after the game, England's Rice couldn't believe his team wasn't returning to the capital with a point.

"I honestly feel sick," I said. We are aware that it is a difficult place to enter; you must exhibit grit, heart, and desire, he told the BBC.
